Director, Sales and Marketing Americas

Summary

This position is based in our corporate headquarters located in Quincy, MA. Reporting to the Senior Director of Global Business, the Director, Sales & Marketing Americas, will manage and direct Myriant’s Sales & Marketing organization in the Americas. This individual will be responsible for promoting and selling Myriant’s products into various applications within the intermediate and specialty chemical marketplace in North and South America. Additionally, he/she will manage key market channel relationships and projects; and be responsible for driving product sales upon completion of our two commercial plants within the next 3 years
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Direct, manage and grow the Sales & Marketing team in the Americas
  • Interface with all levels of organization including the executive management team, external clients, key account owners and partners
  • Conduct market research, analyze data and collaborate with colleagues to devise and implement strategic and tactical marketing plans
  • Be the primary driver of Myriant’s Succinic Acid business
  • Be an integral part of Myriant’s product branding efforts and be a key player in the strategic development of our product pipeline.
  • Be willing and able to travel up to 40% and, at times, on short notice.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a proven track record for both individual and team-directed sales success in the intermediate and specialty chemicals marketplace
  • Possess exceptional negotiating and closing skills
  • Be able to direct, motivate and drive the sales team to meet Myriant’s expected revenue goals.
  • Be flexible and adaptable, be able to change pace and direction, and be able to adjust focus as the demands of the industry and of the organization necessitate
  • Must possess excellent writing, speaking and group-presentation skills.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with Myriant’s various business units.
  • Must be able to analyze and solve complex business issues and be able to present concepts, problems and solutions to management and clients in a clear, succinct and timely manner.
  • Must be able to manage the pressure and stress associated with the challenges of the position and the expectations of Myriant’s Executive Management Team.
Education and/or Experience
  • Minimum 10 years direct Sales & Marketing experience in the intermediate or specialty chemical marketplace. Major chemical company experience is preferred.
  • BA or MS in Chemistry, MBA a plus.
  • Fluent in English. Bilingual or multilingual helpful.
