Plant Controller
Summary
The Plant Controller will have responsibility for the oversight of all Finance, Accounting, Information Technology (IT), Administrative and Human Resource functions at the Louisiana (LA) Facility. This individual will report directly to the Plant Manager and the Corporate Controller, as well as Corporate Department Heads as it pertains to the LA facility’s individual departments. The Plant Controller will manage a staff of two.

This is a tremendous opportunity for a high-energy individual to gain experience across a full spectrum of plant functions (Construction, Operations set-up, Financing document compliance, Human Resources, Insurance and IT). You will participate in taking the facility from ground breaking through construction and into operations.

 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage the accounting functions of the LA facility including Cash Management, Accounts Payable, Inventory Management, Billing and Collection, Payroll and Month-end / Year-end close.
  • Responsible for all financial statement reporting, including special purpose un-audited quarterly and year-end audited financial statements for financing document compliance.
  • Responsible for processing of capital expenditure requests, preparing forecasts and annual budgets, and performing all other financial analysis tasks as identified.
  • Human Resources: responsible for hiring and training of local HR candidates. HR candidate hired will report to the Corporate HR Manager.
  • Information Technology: working with the corporate Director of IT, the Plant Manager will participate in the selection and implementation of facility accounting software systems.
  • The selected individual will ensure adequate internal controls are in place for Sox compliance.
  • Interact with and support the Plant Manager in various capacities and collaborate with all other functions to analyze and improve plant financial results.
Education and/or Experience
  • BS or equivalent in Accounting or Finance is a minimum requirement.
  • MBA, CPA or CMA certification a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience, preferably with at least two years in a plant environment.
  • Hands on experience preparing financial statements, financial analysis, cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting and supervising staff.
  • Strong decision-making; can identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines, set priorities, and use time effectively to accomplish goals.
  • Able to speak and write clearly and effectively; and communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in Excel, MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Great Plains experience a plus
  • Experience working in a SOX environment is a plus
