In December 2009, Myriant won funding from the U.S. Department of Energy. Myriant will receive up to $50 million for its biobased Succinic Acid plant in Lake Providence, Louisiana, with construction to begin in 2010.

The plant will produce 30 million lbs of biobased Succinic Acid beginning in 2011. The facility will be the world's largest biobased succinic acid plant, and can support our plans to expand due to the projected growth of this market.
